International Advisory Council
The SDSU International Advisory Council (IAC) exists to
facilitate communication about international activities across the
university community and to advise and assist the Director of
International Affairs in the discharge of his duties.
The IAC consists of representatives of the eight university
colleges, the Academic Senate, the Graduate School, Briggs Library,
the Honors College, the Office of Diversity Enhancement, a faculty
member in International Area Studies, the International Student
Advisor, and two students. The chair of the IAC is the Director of
International Affairs.
Council members recommended by college deans are appointed by the
two vice presidents with presidential approval, and serve three-year
staggered terms.
The Academic Senate representative is appointed by the Senate, and
serves a one- to three-year term on the Council.
The two student representatives serve one- to three-year terms. One
student is appointed directly by the SDSU Student Association. The
other student, who must have some international experience,
is recommended by the Director of International Affairs,
and subsequently appointed by the Student Association.
Members of the IAC can be reappointed.
