New Research-based Study Abroad Program Launched for SDSU Faculty and Students

N. E. Hansen International Research Expeditions

Concept

Led by two faculty members in different, yet complementary disciplines, an N. E. Hansen International Research Expedition involves undergraduate and graduate students in an organized, faculty-designed and -developed research project abroad.  The project must be fieldwork-focused, with the students acting as research collaborators, each with a discrete research assignment that benefits the project overall.  Students act, therefore, as research team members, contributing to the successful outcome of the project by drawing upon their own skills and abilities.

Purpose

An N. E. Hansen International Research Expedition should inspire students, providing them with an opportunity to learn, first-hand, the value of collaborative, interdisciplinary field research, while at the same time allowing them to see and experience another culture or cultures.  more....
